Located in Grand Rapids, MI, our client wanted a complete cabinet makeover for their kitchen, coffee bar, laundry room, and mudroom. We partnered with interior designers from kristiekoningdesign.com to renovate the rooms with painted and stained skinny shaker-style cabinets.
This cabinet project included flush/Inset mount, "Skinny Shaker" doors and drawers.
The Kitchen cabinets were made from stained white oak, while the kitchen island cabinets were painted green and matched the laundry room cabinets. The white oak kitchen cabinets also featured a matching paneled fridge and dishwasher.
Completing the look are a pocket door microwave cabinet, a nickel gap panel island back, as well as accessories, including a silverware drawer organizer, a spice drawer tray, a utensil pullout, baking sheet organizers, and a double 35-quart recyclable/trash pullout.
We also provided a stained white oak bench for the mudroom lockers, and top and sides that enclosed the washer and dryer in the laundry room.
One of the challenges that we overcame was in the coffee bar area. There was a load bearing wall in the middle that could not be removed, so we designed a tall cabinet that would conceal it by wrapping around it. If you look closely at the tall cabinet on the left (pictured below), it has an extra wide stile to cover on the righthand side.
